David Kostelecký won silver at the European Championship in Osijek!

Shooting legends David Kostelecký and Jiří Lipták are celebrating another success in their rich careers. They won silver in the team competition at the European Championship in Osijek in the trap discipline! The Olympic winners reached it together with Jan Palacký. In the final, the Czechs narrowly lost to Great Britain (5:6). The Italians finished third.

In the competition of 19 teams, the Czech team mastered the demanding qualification. Lipták was flawless in it, Kostelecký and Palacký each hit 73 out of 75 targets, which was certainly enough to advance to the fight for gold medals.

Against the British trio of Halles, Scott, Heading, the Czechs initially pulled the short end of the stick. After the first two series, they lost 1:3. They equalized in the third and took a 5:3 lead in the fourth. David Kostelecký even had a match point in the 5th round. If he scored a hit with the last shot, it would be decided. This is how it went to a dramatic shootout, in which the opponent was more fortunate.

This is the second team medal for Kostelecky and Lipták this year. In August, together with national team colleague Pavle Vaňek, they shot bronze at the World Championships in Baku.
